Sept. 9 – On this day in Montana history in 1896 famous Montana cowboy artist Charlie Russell married Nancy Cooper in Cascade. The couple had a successful life with many people saying that Nancy was the business brains behind the man who painted Montana. Their honeymoon cottage is still standing in Cascade.
